# Workflows

A **workflow definition** is the graph the Elsa engine executes. Definitions are
versioned and can be published independently of the running app.

## Version scopes

| Scope | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| Latest | One row per definition, newest version |
| Published | Only published versions |
| Draft | Only unpublished versions |
| All versions | Every stored version |

## Import / export

Definitions can be exported as JSON and re-imported through **Import** on the
Elsa Flows page. The JSON is the same document the engine stores, so an export
from one tenant can be imported into another.
